It takes courage to endure the sharp pains of self-discovery rather than choose to take the dull pain of unconsciousness that would last the rest of our lives”. - Marianne Williamson

Hello!  What a courageous step you are taking in your healing journey to seek therapy.

About me:

I have both an Undergraduate and a Graduate degree in Social Work with a Minor in Psychology. I specialize in trauma treatment and utilize eclectic bottom-up therapies including Polyvagal Theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I have experience working with clients who have experienced both developmental and recent traumas through community mental health and working with survivors of domestic violence within a residential shelter. I also specialize in family crisis and trauma informed mental health care. My focus is on stabilization and safety first followed by the healing of complex developmental trauma paired with empowering psychoeducation.

I am committed to supporting you in your journey of finding who you are and not who your behaviors may lead you, or others, to believe you are. Our past experiences influence our beliefs about ourselves and in turn, our behaviors. I am a firm believer in no shaming and finding what works for you while also pushing to find the roots and patterns of your thoughts and actions. Finding patterns is one of my go to’s because as humans, we are creatures of habit and if we can find what those habits mean, they are easier to change. One of my main goals will be to help you find your voice so you can be more comfortable and confident advocating for yourself across various environments and situations.

I like to pair directness and truth, with softness and leading my clients to find the patterns they often rely on. When we can look at ourselves without shame and notice that some of our behavioral patters are based on survival instinct, or a past experience, we understand ourselves better and that makes us free to make an informed decision on how to turn our maladaptive coping skills, into more adaptive ones. I also believe that knowledge is power and that psychoeducation is the key to understanding how to regulate ourselves and others.

Outside of work:

On a personal note, in my time outside of work, I like to explore different coffee shops, anything crafty, I love cooking, listening to music, watching my favorite shows, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.
